EveNSteve is the creative team of myself, author Eve O. Schaub and my husband, artist Stephen Schaub. Our first collaborative piece is this one— Rutland: Real and Imagined, created for a show of the same name, conceived of and curated by Steve in January of 2019.

We met in RIT’s photography program in 1995, and we’ve worked side by side ever since, each creating our separate projects but always in consultation with each other. It was only with this recent work that Steve invited me to collaborate with him by creating accompanying text and writing directly on his artwork, which at 20 feet was to be the largest work he had made to date.

How had we never thought of this before? Huh.
